James Webber online

Just a little reminder of where to find James on the web in the building anticipation to the album release...

(1) The myspace site at: http://www.myspace.com/jameswebber has been where its all been happening. I have it on good authority that sometime very, very soon we will have a real treat in the form of the first glimpse of songs from the album...

(2) Several outtakes and fan footage of james' gigs has made its way onto Youtube. Though a lot of this is of quite rough quality, it is incredible to see, especially for those of us in the UK who have gone for far too long since being treated to a live performance.

(3) A new facebook group has just been set up! Just use the search facility to look for James Webber and please join up.

I understand this site is also due for a revamp pretty soon, so don't be shy if you're out there, intoduce yourself, and we can continue to meet in this forum too...

With Love,

Sparky xx

Forum: James Webber

James UK

I was lucky enough to start off the year at an impromptu New Years Eve party where I first heard James play. Then again just before he and Robbie left for the US. My year got off to a brilliant start.

Listening to James play live is like having a favourite meal in a favourite restaurant. My drink gets left on the table.

The song "Friends like me" leaves me fighting the urge to press my forehead into the nearest sticky, grubby pub table and weep. Heart rending, soul mending. I don't think I know anyone who hasn't loved someone who's only ever managed to hurt them back. And to know that maybe, just maybe, that person could later see what they've done and they're so sorry for it... each time I leave a little bit more intact.

One last note of significance. I don't dance. Not unless horribly inebriated. I am a bona fide, toe-tapping wallflower. But for James I would dance.

Forum: Live

FAS Review

"He comes on stage all grace and tranquility and sings a hymn that sounds as old as the hills. We are transported right away. As the set develops on, the rage arrives. He begins to look like a daemon possessed. He doesn't sing for us any longer, he is the song itself. It is wrenched from him like an emptying or purificating. The result is mesmeric on different levels. It is visual as he contorts and metamorphoses through performance. It is audibly intoxicating like thick vocal opium. His voice appears
somewhere from within him. It doesn't come from his mouth any more. One minute it is tender and warm. The next it is brutal and unforgiving. It is a voice that always speaks to us. It is our voice at the same times he is describing. It is like witnessing a clairvoyant channeling dead souls before violently spewing ectoplasm. He is speaking in ancient tongues his language of desire, lust, wistful dreaming, agony. The madness of it and the whirlwind. The caress and the calm.....

I saw James for the first time in Winter 2005 and believed he had potential to be one of the most successful music acts in the country. I watched him again last week and know he has the power to be the most successful in the world"

I hope members enjoy reading this piece I wrote for my own music magazine Devilshine. Please leave your feedback if you liked my writing.

Go James

Forum: Live

I had the honour to sing Orsino with James in a house overlooking the waters of Pittwater in Sydney. Then James sang a new song he wrote for ME!!! I am 15 years old and have Cerebral Palsy and he said he would write a song for me and he kept his word. Everybody there thought it was the most beautiful song and was sure to be a number one hit.

If your soul could sing it would sound like James Webber.

Forum: James Webber

James in LA

Im a new fan of James Webber. I was lucky to see his recent live shows in Los Angeles (The Mint, Cranes Hollywood Tavern and a private showcase).

James possesses that inexplicable talent that music lovers crave. He is a rock-soul-acoustic storyteller who strings together some of the most publishable personal lyrics Ive ever heard. And his vocal range and tone captivate while he masterfully plays the guitar.

His performance is equally ferocious as it is gentle. Its as if Power asked Grace to dance--she said yes and they lived happily ever after. The result: A sublime mix that provides the listener a reprieve, an alignment. Youll leave beaming and reminded you that youre not alone (in feeling alone sometimes).

If James comes to a space near you, dont miss him.

**** (4 out of 4 stars)

Forum: Live

Showcase in Griffith Park

Greetings JW Fans!

It's been three days since I've seen James last show, and I've been deeply moved in the most beautiful way. I am so happy to share the experience with you.

He performed an industry showcase on Saturday night that was performed at the home of a Hollywood Producer.

50+ professionals from the entertainment industry gathered in misty candlelight for an intimate acoustic set from JamesWebber.

Through a hushed crowd, he moved to the stage, took his seat, adjusted his guitar and took a sentient pause to gather an extraordinary energy..... then began his set with a most haunting rendition of "Just Look Up"

It was transportational. After a noticeable pause, the crowd responded with thundering applause and just.plain.awe.

From that moment on, the deed was done.

The audience was compelled to join his ethereal magic carpet ride.

We went on a journey through the velvety terrain of poet & prophet with his prescient observation of human emotion.

Looking around the room, I saw people from every kind of circumstance, resonating together in union.

Someone in the crowd reported to me afterward that 'all her chakas opened .'

We are, after all in California

It was beautiful.
Greetings James Webber Fans!

Well, I now know what all the buzz is about!

Last night, James Webber played live at The Mint, a famous LA music spot that has a history of being a launchpad for incredible musicians.

Right before James came onstage, the lighting was adjusted to a warm spotlight piercing the dark which illuminated a single stool and microphone.

He was dressed in a black suit. His hair had a life and profile of it's own and he greeted the crowd with a warm, confident smile.

His first song was the evocative "Look up" which conjures immediate visions of an Angel whispering to someone in despair.

The previously glass-clanking, chit-chatty crowd, froze in their seats and gave their full attention to the stage. The audience was listening....a rare feat for an LA crowd.

Industry music people, film people, and music lovers stayed glued to James' performance as he took the crowd on a soulful, romantic roller-coaster ride of pure feeling-straight from the heart.

I've seen many new faces come and go through LA. James Webber has got the 'it' factor, that will be completely recognized by the industry. I see his music in movies and on the charts and radio very quickly.

It was a magical show. I'm looking for a couple of songs you played, and they are not on your website.

When is your next show?

Love, Skye
Forum: Live
